NEW !!! DISA KLEP ("Differenzierte Sauganlage")
The DISA valve controls air differentiation in the intake manifold (adjusts length of airway) and is a notorious component in the intake manifold of the M54 engine as this valve breaks down over time (indication 70,000 to 100,000km).
The material used is of inferior quality and wears out / gets play. In the worst case it may even break and there are loose parts in your intake manifold resulting in engine damage.
Furthermore, a malfunctioning DISA valve obviously has a negative effect on your car's engine run, power and torque.
Possible issues that could be caused by a bad or defective DISA valve:
- Rattling/clacking sound from your intake nozzle during idle (check by unplugging -> sound should disappear)
- Reduced engine run and power/torque at idle and lower rpm areas.
- Possible error codes associated with the check engine light
- Poor mixture error codes can also indicate a faulty DISA valve .
- Increased fuel consumption.
Overhaul your DISA valve with the DISA repair kit which consist of:
- Aluminum valve
- Aluminum control arm with locking clip
- Shaft with spring washer
- New VITON O-ring
- Lithium grease
- Threadlocker
